Canon EF40mm F2.8 STM White. I took night snap shot using pancake lens.
The thinnest and lightest white pancake lens among EF lenses.
This is the Canon EF40mm F2.8 STM white.
This is the prime lens included in the EOS Kiss X7 (EOS Rebel SL1 / EOS 100D) White Color Version Double Lens Kit.
If this white lens is new, we should not be able to buy the white lens alone.
That's why I got a second hand item.
It was a little more expensive than the regular black version.
The lens barrel is made of plastic, but the quality is good.
Diameter 68.2mm, thickness 22.8mm, weight about 130g.
AF is quiet and quick to focus, and it corresponds to the "full-time manual focus" that allows immediate MF by rotating the focus ring.
Using the EF-EOS M, I attached it to the EOS M5.
The white one is a little strange :}
The filter diameter is 52mm, and the lens hood is already attached.
Given the above, it is very similar to the EF-S24mm F2.8 STM.
But I don't have the EF-S24mm F2.8 STM :}
So, I would like to post a night snapshot taken with a combination of Canon EOS M5 and EF40mm F2.8 STM.
Since the EOS M5 is equipped with an APS-C sensor, the angle of view is equivalent to 64mm in the 35mm format.
For me, an angle of view that requires a little getting used to.
But it's fun to get hooked on it.
Please forgive me for camera shake.
The shortest shooting distance is 0.3m and the maximum shooting magnification is 0.18x.
So I approached the flower.
It's not as big as a macro, but it's convenient to be able to shoot closer.
The number of diaphragm blades is 7, and a circular diaphragm is used.
The bokeh in the corner of the photo is lemon-shaped.
If using camera equipped with an full-size sensor, It may be more noticeable.
Anyway, I like being able to shoot lightly.
When I actually used it, I realized once again that it was the best one for city shooting snaps.
So I bought a regular black lens too :D
